unJPEGDecompressing JPEG Images to Targa and Other FormatsunJPEG decompresses all the JPEG files in a specified directory, whose filenames match a pattern, to Targa or other format files. Here is unJPEG's graphical interface:
In the above example, the conversion is to the default format, which is the Targa format. The example decompresses jpeg files from the Texturemations CD (drive E: in the above example), converting to targa format files on a hard drive (drive D: in the above example). Note that unJPEG does NOT create directories, so for this example to work you must have already created the "\Texturemations\aquawave" directory on drive D: Note: PIC format is the format used by Softimage 3D. To convert to PIC format SoftImage 3D must be already installed on your computer. unJPEG uses DJPEG, which is part of a package created by the Independent JPEG Group. DJPEG can be invoked by itself from the command line and has many more options than are available through unJPEG.For more information on the Independent JPEG Group, see related links. |
