- like the one above are
easy to build using Tk. Your controls can
contain images, vectors, splines, as well as all manner of buttons, sliders and menu's and
all in color. SoftWish graphical controls can be constructed and used at any time.
They do not use DIAL and are not constrained by the plugin architecture.
- Behaviors are more than an easy way to
build most persistent effects without writing a plugin. Use them to attach scripts to
Softimage objects and to evaluate those scripts each frame. Objects can react to other
objects and situations in whatever scene they are put into. Behaviors can act as
super-powerful expressions with subroutines, macros, named variables, GUI widgets,
call-outs to shareable libraries and more. Since Behaviors can read or write local
or networked files and devices they can be a simpler alternative to channel drivers.
The SoftWish Console provides a command
line for Softimage. See the result of each script line as you enter it. The SoftWish
Console provides an easy way to construct any immediate effect without writing a plugin.
The Console's command line is available for standalones too. This means that you
can write and debug your tools using Soft interactive to see what is happening and then
run them, unchanged, as a standalone.
Platform Independence Use SoftWish to write your tools on any ONE
Softimage platform and then run them, just as they are, without any modifications, on ANY
platform Softimage runs on. SoftWish is a complete solution. NO compilers are necessary.
