Installing SoftWish on Windows NT Computers

You must have administrative privileges in order to install SoftWish for Windows NT.
Softimage must already be installed.
If you have a previous version of SoftWish installed, uninstall it. This can be done automatically by running the SoftWish uninstall, or manually by deleting the entire SoftWish directory (located in SI_LOCATION\3D\Custom\). Files from an older version in the SoftWish directory could interfere with the proper operation of the latest version.
Run SETUP.EXE from the SoftWish CD.
SETUP will ask you to choose whether to install SoftWish or just the flexlm licensing components. If you choose SoftWish it will be installed, however you will not be able to run it until you get and install license. If you have purchased SoftWish you will want to get and install a permanent license. If you are just trying SoftWish you should place the Demo license we emailed you into the $SI_LOCATION\3D\custom\SoftWish\flexlm directory. This directory is created during the SoftWish install but is empty. The license we send you must named: SoftWishDemoLicense.dat. For example if your softimage is D:/Softimage/SOFT3D_3.8 then you need to put the license file we email you into: D:/Softimage/SOFT3D_3.8/3D/custom/SoftWish/flexlm.
