Focus and Display on NT Softimage does NOT allways refresh the screen properly. Sometimes it leaves "ghost" images of other applications painted onto its' display. These are just images, not application windows, so clicking on them is futile. You must depress the r key to refresh the screen. This will cause Softimage to repaint it's display. Even when it repaints it's display Softimage does not allways repaint its' buttons. To get the buttons to repaint, switch modules using the function keys (i.e <F1> for Model, <F2> for Motion, etc). Whenever you switch to a new module the buttons get repainted. If a Softimage plugin such as SoftWish is displaying a window or dialogue box you will not be able to refresh the screen with the r key. This is because Softimage has given control to the plugin and cannot respond until that plugin returns. This means that when you have a SoftWish window open and click outside that window you must reselect the SoftWish window using <ALT><TAB>. Pressing <ALT><TAB> opens a dialog box containing thumbnail icons of all the running applications. This dialog remains visable so long as one continues to depress the <TAB> key. One of these application icons will be outlined. When you release the <TAB> key the outlined application will be given focus. Its' window will move to the foreground and you can work with it. You can move the outline forward with the <TAB> key and backwards with <SHIFT><TAB>. To get back to a SoftWish window you want to outline the icon that looks like this:
